Kate Richards, Vice President of Talent Services
I’m the person in an organization who, “just gets it,” when it comes to connecting talent to customers and projects. Part of this comes from my intuitive nature paired with decades of executive level experience; another part comes from my exceptional listening skills. My favorite Covey Habit is, “Seek first to understand, then to be understood.” (I call it The Kate Principle.)
To understand your talent needs, I fully engage my ears, my brain and my heart. The heart part is going beyond people’s skill sets to get into what motivates them and how they uniquely deploy their skills and knowledge. That’s how I find you the right fit. Call me, “The e-harmony of the life sciences.” I’m also a successful human resource executive with a Black Belt in Six Sigma who develops practical, sustainable staffing solutions.
In addition to the Black Belt, I am certified by both the Society for Human Resource Management and the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. I was recently selected to be a director for the Human Capital Executive Research Board. Other notable accomplishments are the Gallup Q12 Employee Engagement Facilitator Certification, the Finance for Non-Financial Managers program at St. Thomas University and LOVAAS Behavioral Therapy Program at the UCLA Graduate School.
My career started as a public school behavioral therapist and educational specialist. In the corporate world, I had leadership roles in companies ranging from Wellbridge to Carlson Marketing to Hanley Wood to Motivaction. My consulting clients include Allianz, Sun Microsystems, Sherwin Williams, McKesson and BASF.
My family calls me “High energy on steroids.” So I run marathons and raise money for non-profits. I have volunteered at Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Intermountain Children’s Home and my church.
